The International Carwash Association’s annual event, The Car Wash Show, took place May 13-15 at the Music City Center in Nashville, TN. Once again, the Western Carwash Association and the Automotive Oil Change Association’s iFlex joined the ICA in putting on the show.
ICA CEO Eric Wulf welcomes attendees.
Richard Enning, ICA president, addresses the General Session.
Tom Essenburg is inducted into the Car Wash Hall of Fame.
According to the ICA, attendance figures topped 9,500, exceeding the 8,788 recorded at last year’s show in Las Vegas and well ahead of the 7,900 who showed up in 2016, the last time the show was held in Nashville. More than 400 exhibitors filled a tradeshow floor measuring close to 170,000 square feet by which measure this was the “largest” car wash show ever.
Nashville provides the backdrop.
During his address at the General Session on Wednesday, May 15, ICA CEO Eric Wulf pointed to the global reach of ICA-organized car wash shows: United States, Europe, Australia, and China. Closer to home, he announced the return, later in the year, of both the ICA’s Women’s Leadership Experience and Splash as well as the establishment of the Car Wash Executive Management Institute in association with the University of Notre Dame.
Following Wulf’s address, Tom Essenburg, CEO of Quality Car Wash, Tommy Car Wash Systems, and Tommy’s Express Car Wash, was inducted into the Car Wash Hall of Fame, the highest honor the ICA can bestow. The award happily coincided with Tommy Car Wash Systems’ 50th anniversary this year.
The Car Wash Show moves to San Antonio, TX for 2020. The event is scheduled for April 6-8. For information, contact the ICA at (888) ICA-8422 or visit www.thecarwashshow.com.
