The National Association of Convenience Stores’ annual event — the NACS Show — is scheduled to run from Tuesday, October 5 through Friday, October 8 at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL.
It is the convenience and fuel retailing industry’s premier event and attracts more than 24,000 attendees from around the world. More than 1,200 exhibitors are expected to occupy a tradeshow floor measuring in excess of 420,000 square feet.
The Cool New Products Preview Room will be loaded with innovations, new products, services, and other growth opportunities and is segmented into the five expo-floor categories: Merchandise, Candy, and Snacks; Technology; Facility Development and Store Operations; Fuel Equipment and Services; and Food Equipment and Foodservice Programs. Here, attendees can capture product details and access exhibitor contact information.
The NACS Show provides ample learning opportunities, offering more than 40 educational sessions grouped in the following themes: Category Management, Customer Experience, Foodservice, Fuels, Government Relations, HR/Labor, Marketing, Operations, Professional Development, and Technology. There are, in addition, two Preconference Workshops for which preregistration and a separate fee are required.
Tuesday’s general session features keynote speaker Jennifer Powers. As a coach, speaker and best-selling author, she has spent the last 15 years helping people remove the mask, crack open their outer shell, and reveal the power that lies beneath. She’s coached hundreds of professionals and mentored and trained more than 2,000 coaches. Using wit, humor, and audience interaction Jennifer helps attendees access tools to better handle the changes experienced over the past year and discover ways to help themselves (and others) be better.
On Wednesday, Kendal Netmaker, an award-winning entrepreneur, author, and gifted speaker will empower and motivate attendees through his message: Regardless of where you come from and what challenges you face, you have the power to embrace resiliency and enact change. From Sweetgrass First Nation, Kendal and his siblings grew up on the reservation surrounded by poverty andfew opportunities. Kendal is a master storyteller and the author of Driven to Succeed.
