2008 Convention and Trade Show

For 2008, the Western Carwash Association has arranged a brand-new location for its annual Convention and Trade Show. We say goodbye to the Hilton, having already forgotten the Rio, the Sands, and the Tropicana. This year, the event takes place at Bally’s Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip and runs from Monday, September 22 through Wednesday, September 24. The theme for this year’s show is “Learn to Win.”

Regular visitors to the show will be familiar with the schedule: separate educational programs for self-service and conveyor operators on day one (the additional detail track offered last year is absent in 2008); association business, keynote address, and exhibits on day two; and exhibits only on day three. The organizers have, however, extended exhibit time by two hours on the final day.

The keynote speaker on Tuesday morning is Ross Shafer, onetime TV game-show host and Emmy-award-winning talk-show host turned motivational speaker and seminar leader. He has produced 14 human-resource training films on customer service, leadership, and motivation, and is the author of several business books.
