Warsaw Chemical Co. Inc. of Warsaw, IN has announced the appointment of Scott Ware as new product research manager. Ware previously worked with Sherwin-Williams for five years as a formulation chemist in a powder-coatings manufacturing plant and was also trained as an ISO/QS 9000 internal auditor. He also worked as the research and development chemist for the industrial division of Warsaw Chemical for five years and has acted as quality control manager for the past four years. Ware graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry.

David Porcelli has been appointed vice president of sales for Irvine, CA-based California Scents. Porcelli has more than 17 years of experience with leading consumer products companies. He will focus on leading the company’s customer-partnership and business-development efforts.

Ephrata, PA-based Cloister Wash & Lube has announced the addition of Diann Roffe as director of business development to the Cloister team. Roffe competed in three Olympic Games for the United States, winning a gold medal in alpine skiing in Lillehammer, Norway in 1994, and a silver medal in Albertville, France in 1992. She has an extensive background in corporate speaking, community relations, and marketing.

Unicoil International of Vancouver, WA has appointed Steve Schwab as its U.S.-based vice president of sales. Schwab worked in various positions throughout WD-40 Company for more than 25 years. He most recently worked with Leatherman Tool Group in Portland, OR as its vice president of national sales.

MR. ZIPPY’S GRAND OPENING

Jim Coleman Company recently cut the ribbon for the grand opening of Mr. Zippy’s Express Ice and Water House at its headquarters in Houston, TX. After many months of testing and manufacturing, the product has been perfected and is now up and running. The unit was dressed with all the bells and whistles and customers came by to get free purified ice and purified water.

Mr. Zippy’s is a freestanding kiosk that can deliver both purified ice and purified water in a coin-operated vending machine. Customers have their choice between a 10-lb. bag of ice and 20 lbs. of bulk ice. They can also vend 1, 3, or 5 gallons of purified water. The unit is convenient and very easy to use. DETAIL EDUCATION

The National Association for Professional Detailing and Reconditioning (NAPDR) will be offering a comprehensive detail-education program at the 7th annual Mobile Tech Expo (MTE). The Expo takes place at the Harborview Center in Clearwater, FL, and runs from January 17 to 19, 2008.

Building on the success of its 2007 MTE and Car Care World Expo presentations, the NAPDR has expanded its participation at the 2008 MTE. For the second year the NAPDR will exclusively provide the three days of programming designed for the industry professional. The NAPDR will also sponsor the detail pavilion, educational sessions, and live demonstrations.
