MARK VII, TV STAR
The new SoftWash XT friction rollover from Arvada, CO-based Mark VII Equipment Inc. is featured in Circle K Southwest’s new “Cleaner Greener” advertising campaign.
“We chose the SoftWash XT, in part, due to its highly efficient use of water during the washing process,” said Brad Staab, car wash category manager for Circle K Southwest. The SoftWash XT uses advanced friction technology and proprietary SofTecs® foam material to clean a car using as little as 15 gallons of water, according to Steve Robinson, director of marketing and product management for Mark VII.

MACE EXECS SENTENCED
Nicholas Sama, onetime regional manager for Mace-owned car washes in the Philadelphia market was recently sentenced to five year’s probation, nine months of home confinement, and a $10,000 fine for his role in a conspiracy to employ dozens of undocumented Mexican workers at four car washes.
The company’s general counsel, Robert Kramer, was sentenced to one year probation, six months of home confinement, and a $75,000 fine, which the judge ordered had to be paid from Kramer’s personal funds. Kramer had pled guilty to one misdemeanor criminal charge. While he didn’t admit to actually knowing of the conspiracy, he was deemed to have had “constructive knowledge” of the scheme to employ undocumented workers.
