MAKE-A-WISH ACCEPTS '03 WASHUSA CHECK

In a symbolic gesture, WashUSA event spokesperson and founder Mark Curtis recently presented Make-A-Wish Account Manager Kristin Keck with a check for $232,760 in New York City for the 2003 fundraiser. Keck has been the fundraiser's Make-A-Wish contact since the event began. Curtis attributes much of the event's success to her hard work and dedication.

"We are so thankful for all the efforts made by operators and vendors alike to make this wonderful donation," Curtis said. "We look forward to presenting an ever-growing check annually as more and more of our industry rallies to support the WashUSA effort."

The WashUSA committee is presently shoring up its 2004 vendor sponsors for its 2004 fund-raiser slated for September 18. There are varying levels of commitment available to suppliers, in addition to the four founding sponsorships, to help underwrite the costs involved in marketing this effort. In this regard, WashUSA recently announced that Pur-Clean & Pur-Water Division, North Highland, CA had joined the September 18 fundraiser as a Gold Sponsor. It further announced that the Jim Coleman Company of Houston, TX had agreed to produce at cost the signage needed for the 2004 WashUSA event and to ship it to all participants. In addition, the Midwest Carwash Association (MCA) promised the effort a huge shot in the arm by undertaking to again match whatever its membership contributes to the fundraiser.
