Charlie Marinella, longtime inside sales manager for Coeur d’ Alene, ID-based U.S. Products — a manufacturer of professional carpet and floor-cleaning equipment — was recently appointed head of the company’s new car care division. The division makes wet/vac vacuum cleaners, carpet extractors, ozone kits for eradicating odors, and other products designed specifically for the professional auto detailing industry as well as for cleaning RVs, boats, and other vehicles.
MACNEIL’S NEW DISTRIBUTOR
Ceccato S.p.A. (www.ceccato.it) (Italy) and MacNeil Wash Systems Limited (www.macneilwash.com) (Canada), both vehicle wash equipment experts, have entered into a strategic cooperation agreement: Ceccato will market, sell, and support MacNeil tunnel systems through the Ceccato distributor network in Europe as well as certain other international markets. The new relationship was launched at the Autopromotec international car wash exhibition held in Bologna, Italy at the end of May.
The large range of cleaning solutions manufactured and distributed by the Ceccato Group will be enhanced by the introduction of heavy-duty and high-productivity tunnel wash systems designed and manufactured by MacNeil in North America. The MacNeil car wash systems will be branded MacNeil-Ceccato for the European market.
AUTEC Car Wash Systems (www.autec-carwash.com) of Statesville, NC has announced that Car Wash Concepts Inc. (www.carwashconcepts.com), a 40-year-old car wash equipment distributor located in Thomasville, NC and serving the Southeastern United States, has been appointed an authorized AUTEC distributor in Eastern North Carolina and South Carolina.

The International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA) has recognized the Car Care Council for creative excellence in communications from among 7,000 entries around the world in its 15th Annual Communicator Awards competition. The Car Care Council won the highest “Award of Excellence” in the consumer awareness brochure category for its Car Care Guide.
The Communicator Awards is the leading international awards program honoring creative excellence for communications professionals. The annual competition honors the best in advertising, corporate communications, public relations, and identity work for print, video, interactive, and audio.

24/7 Dog Wash opened for business June 13, 2009 at 150 Roland Road, Monroe, LA. The wash uses the Australian made K9000 Self Service Dog Wash that allows dog owners to wash their pets in a fun, safe, effective, and affordable way while getting dogs clean at a fraction of what groomers charge.

In Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the Edmonton Humane Society became the first Humane Society in North America to use the K9000 Self Service Dog Wash. The wash opened its doors at the end of May at the new Chappelle Centre for Animal Care in Edmonton. “This is a way to help animals since the proceeds support the shelter animals.” said Stephanie McDonald, executive director of Edmonton Humane Society.
The Contra Costa Water District is offering tips on using water wisely while drought conditions persist in California. The CCWD has joined forces with several local “Smart Wash Car Washes” that reclaim water.
