Northeast Regional Carwash Convention
The 24th Annual Northeast Regional Carwash Convention (NRCC) takes place at the Trump Taj Mahal Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. The event runs from Monday, October 7 through Wednesday, October 9 and is hosted this year by the Car Wash Operators of New Jersey.
The CarWash College kicks off the educational programming on Monday with a presentation on proven moneymaking services and how to implement them at the car wash. A discussion on the express car wash model will be included along with advice on how to adapt this format to an existing facility.
The ever-popular Early Bird Panel Discussion takes place on Tuesday morning. Panelists, car wash veterans all, will share their thoughts on and experience with unlimited wash clubs. The keynote address follows, presented this year by Coach Bob Hurley, Sr. Having built St. Anthony High School in Jersey City, NJ into a national basketball powerhouse, Coach Hurley in 2010 became only the third high school coach to be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame. Mark Curtis of Greenwich, CT-based Splash Car Wash and president of the International Carwash Association concludes the pre-luncheon programming with the ICA address.
Tuesday evening’s Opening Night Reception at the Hard Rock Café offers an opportunity to network with peers and make new friends. It also serves a higher purpose: The NRCC has teamed up with Restore the Shore to raise money for the victims still impacted by the destruction caused by Hurricane Sandy last fall. The goal is to raise $10,000 during the evening.
Following the Early Bird Roundtables on Wednesday, Tom Ledbetter, whose company specializes in business succession and exit planning, presents a seminar entitled “Get out Alive! From Your Carwash Business.”
