Blendco Systems of Bristol, PA has announced the appointment of two new sales managers. Jon Eberle joins the Blendco team as southwest regional manager. He brings 10 years of experience in the car wash industry as well as past success in direct sales in the southern United States. Eberle will cover the southern states of Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas. Stuart Hulsey takes the position as tunnel sales manager for the East Coast. In addition to a background in chemistry, he has more than 20 years of professional experience in the car wash industry.
Indianapolis, IN-based Mike’s Car Wash Inc. has promoted chief operating officer Billy Schaming to president. He will report to Mike’s CEO Bill Dahm. Schaming joined Mike’s in 2005. He previously spent 10 years as the managing partner of his family’s two businesses in Pittsburgh, PA, Mr. Magic Car Wash and Magic Investments, a car wash solutions, equipment, and supply company. Schaming earned his MBA from Duquesne University.
R. Lewis Technologies of Green Bay, WI has named industry veteran Ron Holub as its business development manager. RLT manufactures custom private label car wash products for car wash distributors.
Barrie, Ontario-based MacNeil Wash Systems has announced the appointment of Anthony Antonis to vice president, sales and marketing. Antonis built an extensive background in dealer-based sales as vice president for U.S. sales at Hanna Car Wash Systems and national sales manager for The Jim Coleman Company. In addition, Antonis has owned and operated a volume full-service car wash and a full-service distributorship for Hanna Car Wash Systems.
PDQ Manufacturing Inc. (www.pdq inc.com), a manufacturer of in-bay automatic vehicle wash systems, has announced the appointment of Idaho Petroleum Equipment as a new distributor serving the Western Idaho region. Headquartered in Boise, ID, Idaho Petroleum Equipment has been operating for 25 years and has expanded its business from fuel equipment to include various types of lube and oil equipment. As a full-service provider to the car wash industry, Idaho Petroleum Equipment offers business consulting, design and development, custom marketing programs, tailored chemical solutions, and a broad range of training programs.
PDQ also announced the appointment of Sky Blue Industries as a new distributor serving the Rocky Mountain region, which includes Utah and eastern Idaho. Sky Blue Industries is based in Ogden, UT and offers service throughout Utah and Idaho. The firm entered the car wash business in 1963 with the opening of a full-service tunnel car wash in Ogden. Sky Blue Industries is the largest chemical provider in the Rocky Mountain region servicing over 400 customers.
Washworld Inc. (www.washworldinc.com) has announced the newest addition to its distributor network. ABC Car Wash Systems (www.ﬁxwash.com) will be handling its vehicle wash systems in southern Nevada. ABC is owned by Ryan Ford who has been in the car wash industry for over 13 years. He opened ABC in September 2009 after spending the previous 11 years as district manager of a large car wash chain.
Washworld has also introduced a new international distributor: AUTOMO, located in Moscow, Russia. AUTOMO is owned by Boris Kasiyanenko who has a background in automotive electrical engineering and had served as deputy director for Master Distributor Hunter Engineering in Russia. Lustra’s previous distributorship in the region was recently sold to a competing manufacturer of chemicals prompting discussions between Lustra management and the ownership team of Car Wash Solutions.

Robert Picard, vice president of SONNY’S, said that the new website represents only the first step in the company’s commitment to leverage technology to better serve its clients’ parts needs. “Over the next year we are also investing nearly $1 million in automated CNC machines to increase the depth, breadth, and in-stock inventory of value-priced replacement parts we manufacture for all OEM brands of car wash equipment,” he added.
AUTOBELL CHARITY TOPS $4.1 MILLION
During 2010, Autobell Car Wash’s Charity Car Wash Program helped raise $587,803 for charities, schools, and other non-profits in North and South Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia. The Charlotte-based company’s program began in 1998 and has raised over $4.1 million to date.
Through the program, Autobell provides non-profit groups with full-service car wash certificates to sell that are custom-printed with the organization’s name and honored at all Autobell locations, which treat 100 percent and recycle 80 percent to 100 percent of wash water used. Fundraisers keep 50 percent of the proceeds from all tickets sales.

MISTER CAR WASH EXPANDS
Tucson, AZ-based Mister Car Wash (www.mistercarwash.com) has acquired an express car wash in Brooklyn Park, MN, the 13th in the Twin Cities area. This makes a total of 66 car washes for the company nationwide. The transaction for the property, located at 7100 W. Broadway, was finalized January 18, 2011 and the car wash is scheduled to reopen by early May.
“Increasing our presence in a market the size of the Twin Cities aligns with our growth strategy. This location is ideal because it is close to popular retail areas and is the only car wash servicing southern Brooklyn Park,” said John Lai, COO of Mister Car Wash.
The car wash will offer exterior car wash services. Mister Car Wash will be installing new tunnel equipment and free vacuums, along with building modifications and signage enhancements.
WI GOVERNOR VISITS CSI
Cleaning Systems Inc.
